Vacation Adventures in Scotland
Why Vacation in Scotland?
There are countless reasons that people
each as unique as the traveller.
Some come for the
marvellous Scottish castles and the history they represent,
some to golf where the game was born,
some to discover their Scottish heritage,
some for Scotland's world famous whisky and salmon fishing,
some to see where Scottish legends
Rob Roy, William Wallace and Robert the Bruce fought for Scotland,
just to catch a glimpse of Nessie.
Others come for
the events, like the Edinburgh Tattoo, or the Highland Games.
Others to see the Royal Mile and shop on fashionable Princes Street,
or to visit the Queen's residence,
the grave of little Greyfriar's Bobby,
the home of Robbie Burns,
to see the heather in glorious bloom.
The list is as endless as the Scots, spread around the world.
Were I forced to express
it all in one sentence, it would be that
Scotland is steeped in history, abounds with superb scenery, and is alive with the traditions of a proud and wonderfully welcoming people.
The people are perhaps the most important,
at least to me.
In all of the places I have travelled in the world,
I have found no more hospitable, warm, and truly welcoming people
than the Scots.
I hope that you
will one day visit Scotland.
If you do,
You'll arrive to welcomes and your departure will be with one wish...
Haste Ye Back!
