Will you meet us at the airport?

Yes, my tours depart from Glasgow airport and I will greet you on your arrival, unless you are arriving early for some time on your own, or are joining the group later.  Depending on the tour, you may even be piped aboard the coach!
A lovely way to start!

What meals are included?

Generally full breakfasts and dinners are included. I find that most guests like to have some freedom to wander for lunch, so I plan our lunch stops accordingly, and generally leave lunches "open". Dinners are a special part of my tours and are normally fully included. Wine with dinner is also normally included. There are also usually 2 or 3 occasions during a tour when complimentary cocktails are served. Any whisky tasting on the itinerary are also included.

Can you accommodate special dietary needs?

Normally, yes, however it's best to ask about your specific case. Strict Kosher for instance, can be a bit tricky in the Highlands. Generally though, I  have been able to accommodate (the Scots are very accommodating people).

If the meals are included, can I avoid foods I dislike?

I try to take very special care of my guests and try to make a point of discovering any strong dislikes when you are booking. I'm taking you "hame" to Scotland, and want you to enjoy it!

Do your tours include airfare?
No, they don't. Many of my guests fly on "points", while others choose to book their own air flights on the internet, directly with a favourite airline or through a trusted travel agent. I can certainly help you decide which option is best, if you wish.

What kind of ground transportation do you use?

I use modern, clean, well maintained, professionally driven coaches. Coaches are usually over sized for the group as the extra room can be more comfortable.

Your Itinerary shows only four hotels. What are the others?

There are no others. Rather than change hotels for each day's adventures, accommodations are chosen not only for their luxury or charm, but also for their locations. That allows us to come "hame" each evening. Less packing and unpacking means less stress (you are on vacation for heavens sake) and more exploring!

Must I book through you, or can I use a Travel Agent?

I am always happy to work with reputable Travel Agents to help arrange your vacation. Your agent will still receive their commission on airfare and any travel insurance (a good idea). If you do not have a preferred agent to assist with flight arrrangements and insurance, I have standing relationships with several and would be happy to refer you. Please visit the Reservations Page for more booking information.

What age-groups take your tours?

I have had guests ranging in age from twenty-something to eighty-something. Romance and adventure have no age limits! However, my trips are generally not suitable for children.

Can I travel with you as a single person?

Yes you can, however there will be a single supplement charge as the hotels in Scotland (and most of Europe) price rooms based upon double occupancy. Please refer to the Upcoming Tours page, for pricing and "single supplement" costs.

Do I need to bring formal evening wear?

No, you don't. Ladies may wish to bring smart evening casual wear and the gentlemen a sport coat or blazer for special dinners. A tie is optional but preferred on one or two evenings.

Will the Heather be in bloom on your tour?

I would like to say that the heather only blooms for my tours, but of course I can't. Or did I just? Anyway, if you are taking a fall tour with me yes, you'll see it in glorious bloom, but sadly not if you are going in the summer. Guests on summer tours do have summer weather though, and the fall is cooler. Choices, choices!

How many guests do you take on one tour?

To maintain a high level of service and personal attention I never take more than 20 guests, and usually only twelve to fourteen. This allows me to be as flexible as possible for individual guests, while not inconveniencing others.
